Large Hydraulic Rock Splitters for Excavators | Yantai Gaea
Excavator-Mounted Large Hydraulic Rock Splitters (Hydraulic Rock Splitter)
Hero (Why it matters)
Yantai Gaea large hydraulic rock splitters use hydraulic wedge splitting to create controlled internal cracking, helping you remove hard rock and concrete with low noise, minimal vibration, and reduced risk of flyrock—especially when blasting or impact methods are restricted.
Built for real job sites, our excavator-mounted splitting system is designed for:
Fast, repeatable splitting cycles
Precise split direction control
Efficient quarrying & demolition without explosives
Safe operation for urban / sensitive environments
Product Overview
Our excavator-mounted hydraulic rock splitter is composed of:
Hydraulic power unit / pump station
Splitting gun / hydraulic splitter
High-pressure hydraulic hoses
Wedges / splitting inserts and working accessories (based on jobsite requirements)
Carrier: mounted on an excavator, powered by the excavator hydraulic system to drive the hydraulic splitter.
Working Principle
Rock and concrete have high compressive strength but are relatively weaker in tension. Hydraulic rock splitters apply controlled force from the inside out through a wedge system inserted into a pre-drilled hole.
The wedge expansion generates internal tensile cracking and forms a split along a controlled path. After splitting, operators remove the broken material and repeat the workflow.

Key Benefits
1) Blast-free and low-risk operation
Compared with explosive blasting, hydraulic splitting is a static, controllable method. It reduces safety exclusion zones and is especially suitable for projects with strict restrictions.
2) Low vibration / low noise / low dust
Hydraulic splitting works without impact hammering, helping minimize vibration, noise disturbance, flying rocks and dust. Great for jobs near buildings, roads, tunnels, bridges, schools and hospitals.
3) High efficiency & continuous working
The system is designed for fast operational cycles and can support continuous splitting productivity with simple maintenance.
4) More precise and controllable splitting
Operators can pre-determine splitting direction, split shape and intended breakout size, improving material yield and reducing unnecessary secondary processing.
5) Convenient installation on excavators
Yantai Gaea large hydraulic rock splitters are designed for practical jobsite deployment:
easier transport and setup
convenient operation and servicing
suitable for confined or hard-to-reach work areas
Work Process (How customers use it)
Drill holes according to the site plan and desired breakout size
(Optional) Cut/groove between holes for improved split-plane flatness
Insert the splitting gun / wedge assembly and align splitting direction toward the free face
Apply hydraulic pressure to generate internal cracking and complete splitting
Remove split pieces and recreate the free face if required
Repeat for the next sequence until the target volume/structure is removed
Applications
Mining & Quarrying
Secondary break-up of large stone blocks
Granite, marble, sandstone, limestone and other hard rock splitting
Mining with hard conditions where blasting is not allowed or not efficient
Construction & Demolition
Concrete demolition and reinforced concrete splitting
Foundation, wall, column, pier, bridge components and bridge sub-structures
Trenching, road widening and controlled excavation
Infrastructure & Special Projects
Tunnel enlargement, culvert enlargement, underground space demolition
Hazardous rock removal and obstacle clearance
Projects requiring controlled splitting with minimal disturbance

Model Range (No fixed parameter—flexible naming)
To fit different jobsite requirements, we classify excavator-mounted large hydraulic rock splitters by splitting force class.
Choose a model based on your required splitting force level and drilling capability:
YG-LRS Series (Low to Medium Splitting Force Class)
For medium-scale rock splitting and controlled demolition projects.YG-HRS Series (High Splitting Force Class)
For hard rock and reinforced concrete splitting where stronger output is needed.YG-UHS Series (Ultra / Extra-High Splitting Force Class)
For the most challenging conditions—large block secondary break-up and heavy demolition tasks.
FAQ
1) Can large hydraulic rock splitters be used in sensitive areas?
Yes. Hydraulic wedge splitting is commonly used where blasting or high-impact methods are restricted—helping reduce noise, vibration and flying debris.
2) Do I need explosives?
In most applications, hydraulic splitting is blast-free. The final approach depends on local regulations, rock conditions and engineering plans.
3) What excavator is required?
Our splitting system is excavator-mounted and powered by the carrier hydraulic system. We will guide you on the best configuration based on your excavator model and jobsite requirements.
4) What determines the number of drill holes and workflow cycles?
It depends on target breakout size, rock hardness, splitting force class, and whether you use optional groove/cut steps.
